Message From Hod’s Desk

The Department of Mechanical Engineering was established in the year 2009. A study of Mechanical Engineering imbibes the student with knowledge in modern methods of design, production, analysis, quality control, optimization and management of resources. After successful completion of study, these engineers can take up higher studies in specialized areas such as Machine Design, Machine Tool Design, Thermal Engineering, Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning, Production Engineering, Industrial Engineering and Management. Through the state of the art CAD/CAM facility, students are also exposed to the latest Design, Analysis and Simulation software.

The Department of Mechanical Engineering has a long tradition of excellence in the Thermal, Production Science and has expanded its Design and Manufacturing programs. The Department has conducted value added courses such CNC, PLC and CADD as and the increase of employability potential zof our students.

Placed close to the three Industrial Estates of Chengalpattu and having amiable relation with all the industries through our membership in CLL, our students have successfully implemented projects for such industries to solve problems that arise. Students majoring in Mechanical Engineering receive basic preparation and specialization through Project Works in the thrust areas of Low Cost Automation, CAD/CAM/CAE, etc. Utmost care and huge investment has been made in setting up the laboratories.
